The Bluebonnets class is our oldest preschool room. In addition to the Creative Curriculum, teachers use the Texas Pre-K and (TEA) School Readiness Guidelines to plan daily lessons. The teachers, Tammy Potter and Barbara Scherff adapt lessons to the individual needs of the child, using observation techniques, developmental assessments and school-home partnership.

Throughout the day the children are encouraged to actively explore and manipulate a variety of materials within a language rich environment. A large part of the preschool curriculum centers on social/emotional development such as problem solving, turn taking, working with peers and conflict resolution. Research has shown that during theses formative years, social /emotional development will prepare them for (later) academic success.
