Daffodils
The Daffodils class is our youngest preschool classroom. Teachers, Christy Lamonde and Jennifer Guerra plan daily lessons using the Creative Curriculum, adapting lessons to the individual needs of the child, using observation techniques, developmental assessments and school-home partnership. Throughout the day the children are encouraged to actively explore and manipulate a variety of materials within a language rich environment.
 | A large part of the preschool curriculum centers on social/emotional development such as problem solving, turn taking, working with peers and conflict resolution. Research has shown that during these formative years, social /emotional development will prepare them for (later) academic success. In addition, activity lessons will be planned to scaffold learning in the following areas: • Language and literacy • Mathematical thinking • Scientific thinking • Social studies • Art • Large and fine motor development • Music • Technology |
