Enrollment & Waiting List Policy & Procedures

The Child Development Center (CDC) is open year round and open to the entire community. The CDC only enrolls from our current, active waiting list. First priority is given to CDC and Family and Consumer Sciences faculty, staff and currently enrolled families.

A summary of our enrollment process is listed below:

  1. Complete and submit a Waiting List Application. Waiting list forms are available online or upon request by calling the Center. You should print the application and send it to: Texas State University Child Development Center, 601 University Dr., San Marcos, TX 78666 with a $25 non-refundable application fee.
  2. When a space becomes available, you will be contacted via phone. You will have 24 hours to respond and 48 hours to place a non-refundable deposit to hold the space. The non-refundable deposit will be equal to one half month tuition and will be applied to your first month’s tuition. There is also a $75 supply fee due upon enrollment.
  3. Schedule a date to tour the facility and meet with your classroom teacher.  All families are required to meet the classroom teachers and the director before the enrollment process is complete. After this requirement is met, the child's start date will be established.

The CDC accepts tuition clients as well as client’s eligible for government-sponsored services. The deposit, application fee and annual supply fee do not apply to clients who receive child care assistance from the Rural Capital Area Child Care Management Services System (CCMS). Clients who have applied, but have not been accepted by CCMS, must pay tuition and fees.

Discounts for second children, Texas State faculty, staff and/or students do not currently exist. The cost for non-tuition paying clients is established by the government through the CCMS Office and is calculated on a sliding scale based on the client’s ability to pay.
