Lab hours

Monday -Friday      8:00 am to 11:30 am & 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm

 

The Child Development Center provides lab students with the opportunity to observe:

  • Highly qualified teachers implementing the Creative Curriculum
  • Caregiver to child interactions
  • Various levels of child development
  • Play as an integral component to learning

Our 6 classrooms are equiped with observation booths that allow students to see and hear children learn and play throughout the day.

 

Each Spring and Fall semester, the Child Development Center opens its doors to over 200 lab students from:

  • Various departments on the Texas State University campus
  •  Austin Community College (Child Development majors by special permission)
  • San Marcos CISD Junior High and High School students -students who want to pursue a career in child development, early childhood development or education are given a guided, instructional tour of our facility

The CDC also provides visiting colleges, universities and childcare facilities with guided tours of the facilities. *Please note that tours are by appointment only. Tours can be scheduled by emailing your request to jb95@txstate.edu .
