NUTR 4301 – Internship in Nutrition and Foods is a required course to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Foods. This capstone course provides an integration of didactic with applied educational experiences. Successful completion of NUTR 4301 demonstrates experience beyond the classroom to potential employers, CADE accredited internship directors, and graduate program directors.
The student is responsible for investigating possible internship sites and negotiating the internship experience with an internship mentor, who is the on-site student supervisor. The Texas State faculty who is instructing the NUTR 4301 course is responsible for assessing the student's performance based on reports submitted by the student, a self-evaluation by the student, and a mentor evaluation of the student. A minimum of 150 clock hours of work is required.
