Dr. Vattem is an Associate Professor in the Nutritional and Food Program at Texas State University in San Marcos.  He received his doctorate at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.  His research focuses on investigating the anti-infectious and immunomodulatory effects of fruits, herbs, spices and medicinal plants.  He received several awards and is one of the invited members of Reuters Insight Community of Experts for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries.  For more information please visit his personal web page at www.dhirajvattem.com.
