Caroline Hill, assistant professor of interior design, is a licensed interior designer in the State of Texas and an active member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and Interior Design Educator’s Council (IDEC).
Professor Hill obtained a Master of Science in Design from Arizona State University, where her studies emphasized design theory, methodology, and criticism. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Professor Hill teaches design studios as well as lecture courses in housing, sustainability and materials. Her research areas of interest include design psychology and sustainability issues, particularly as they relate to professional practice.
Professor Hill’s creative and scholarly work has been published in the Journal of Interior Design, Interiors & Sources, and other periodicals. In 2006, she was awarded the Merit of Distinction at an international competition for her design of the Whole Foods Market corporate headquarters.
Prior to entering academia, Professor Hill practiced as a professional interior designer focusing on restaurant and high-end corporate design projects; she remains connected to practice through regular contract work with design firms as well as her own clientele.
Professor Hill is passionate and enthusiastic about teaching interior design and she expects her students to be equally excited and personally committed to academic excellence.
