Jene Laman holds an MFA in Art/ Interior Design from North Texas State University, Denton, Texas. He is a licensed designer # 1635 and certified by NCIDQ # 1151.

He is a Professor of Interior Design at Texas State University and currently teaches Introduction to Design and Professional Practices at the CIDA accredited program.   

He has been published many times in several interior design magazines, including: The Designer, Austin Home and Living, and San Antonio Homes and Gardens.   

His art work has won many awards in national, regional, and state juried exhibitions. Recently, his artwork has been exhibited in one and two-person exhibitions.   

Professionally, he is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, the Interior Design Educators Council, the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, the Texas Association of Interior Design, the Texas Association for Schools of Art, and many local organizations.
