Dr. Sue Williams

Dr. Williams is a faculty member in the Family and Child Development program area. She developed and coordinates the student exchange program with the Stockholm Institute of Education.

She is the Coordinator and student advisor for the graduate program in Family and Child Studies. She teaches courses related to children’s social development, program administration and international early care and education policies and programs.

She is currently engaged in research related to these areas, i.e., maternal separation anxiety, infant attachment, and emotional intelligence of program administrators.   

She was twice awarded developmental leave to study the early care and education programs in Mexico and Sweden. She directed the Child Development Center for 13 years.

She received her Doctorate from Oklahoma State University with a major in Family and Child Development.   

Dr. Sue Williams was honored on November 2, 2006 at a ceremony in the LBJ Student Center with the Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement in International Education. The National Association of International Educators at Texas State University presented the award to her.
