The Department has several scholarships available to continuing students majoring in programs within the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Applications are available from the main departmental office (FCS 101) in February and awards are announced at the annual Departmental Awards Ceremony held in April each year.
Esther R. Broome Scholarship - Awarded to a single mother attending Texas State and pursuing a degree. Preference given to full-time, Family and Consumer Science major maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
Englert Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to full-time Nutrition & Foods major with financial need in good standing with the University, maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
Robbie and Charles Zunker Scholarship - Awarded to full-time sophomore, junior or senior students majoring in Interior Design, Nutrition & Foods, Fashion Merchandising, and Consumer Science with demonstrated financial need and a sustained record of high academic achievement.
Azalete and Byron Little Scholarship - Awarded to full-time sophomore, junior or senior student majoring in Family and Consumer Science (General, Consumer Science, or Education) with demonstrated financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Evelyn L. Hearn Scholarship - Available anytime during the year for Phi U, FCS, or FCS as professional development scholarships. Must be full-time student maintaining a minimum 2.5 GPA with demonstrated leadership in the department.
B.J. and Stan Friedman Scholarship - Awarded to full-time junior or senior student majoring in Nutrition and Foods or Psychology with preferences given to underrepresented populations, especially students from the Jewish community, with demonstrated financial need and a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Departmental Scholarships - Scholarships (usually one per program area) awarded to full-time students with demonstrated financial aid.
