Dietetic Internship Director
Hannah Thornton is currently a Senior Lecturer and Director of Dietetics Internship Program in the Nutrition and Foods Program in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, and a private practice dietitian specializing in pregnancy and pediatric nutrition. She earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Biology at Smith College in Northampton, MA, and went on to complete a Master's of Science in Biology at Florida International University in Miami, FL. Most recently, Hannah completed a Master's of Science in Nutrition as well as the Dietetic Internship at Texas State. During her Master's program, Hannah completed research exploring the impact of federal policy on nutrient intakes in infants and children enrolled in the WIC program. In 2013, she was selected to receive the College of Applied Arts Outstanding Graduate Student Award. She has co-authored a number of scientific articles, and presented the results of her research at national and international conferences. Hannah comes from a long line of educators and believes deeply in the power of education to transform lives. She greatly appreciates the opportunity to be a part of this process with her students.
